New Day

It's a new day

for you to pray,

and gives thanks

to God for the air to breathe,

and lungs to breathe it.

It's a new day
to let everything go
you tow behind you
in life's wake.
Let forgiveness
be your freedom key.

It's a new day
to say I love you,
to those who feel far away,
or those who truly are.
Let your heart speak
only what is true and right.

It's a new day
to rise and shine
your unique life light,
that will help others
on their way.

It's a new day
to shout and sing
God's praises.
Don't let all Creation's call
sound without you.

It's a new day
to count your jar of blessings
as more numerous and lasting,
than your passing jar of sorrows,
which the Lord has promised
will one day be no more.

It's a new day.

Full of promise.

Full of potential.

Full of grace.

Don't exist in it.

Live it to the full.

Jesus has made the way,

so don't miss the gift of this new day.

Wrestling

I know I cannot

wrestle with You 

and win.

I cannot even prevail in an argument

about a slight difference of opinion.

Why does my heart

justify itself,

thinking it can out staunch an everlasting God?

Maybe I'm a little crazy,

but I find myself

thinking I can get away

with things that I pull others up for.

Log or speck in your eye,

totally depends on perspective,

and we generally give ourselves

the benefit of the doubt.

How can I feel justified to judge others 

in an uncaring manner,

when I would so dislike

to receive that judgment turned on me?

How can I know I have truly forgiven

the one who caused me or another such distress?

Can my heart ever tell the absolute truth?

It will one day when I stand before the Lord.

So I wrestle,

and acknowledge my humanity,

and am so thankful

that I have made Jesus,

my Savior and my Lord.

Be Bold

Be bold.

Be strong.

Don't crumple,

or fold,

or faint for fear.

Peace

I give you,

not as the world gives,

because it is completely bankrupt,

and cannot find two tiny coins

of manmade peace

to rub together.

To war,

or not to war,

has replaced the 'to be' question.

Jesus is King,

and His Kingdom

will smash this present darkness.

Right now,

make the choice,

to stand for righteousness.

The King is coming.

Be bold.

Be strong.

Truth

Truth is beaten down

by naysayers and die hard critics.

Cynicism is the new cool,

cursing it's language.

Truth is sidelined
as unimportant and irrelevant,

too old fashioned for words,
laughable even.

Truth is how you see it,

and you and I see it
so very differently.

We can all be right
in this age
of conformity to nonsensical logic.

Truth is changing.

Of course it is.

All good things mutate over time
as the precise facts of the evolution theory
put it.

We will create a new truth
that will last forever,

with a few parts of the old
for the sake of continuity.

Truth is guarded
by a fanatical few
with a Book revered
and stories told
of a Man who said he was Truth.

Truth has been silenced,
all in allegiance killed.

It will not be bothering us anymore.

Truth can never be destroyed.

One day He will return

and put an end to lies

forever.

Let go and let God

Let go

and let God

deal with that

which afflicts you.

Darkness cannot conquer

His light

which shines with

intense love for you,

as the treasure

and apple of His eye.

The enemy has touched

your life,

but God's hand is stronger,

and His deliverance

is coming

like a freight train

to destroy the enemy's plans.

There is no hope

for the one who contends

with the Almighty.

Every voice will come to silence,

every accusing word will fall 

to the ground

lifeless.

Be strengthened by the power of

His love,

lifted up,

out of the place of despair,

disillusionment,

doubt,

or whatever other word would

describe your inner self right now.

Be redeemed

by the greatest Redeemer of all,

who paid your debt,

cancelled your sin,

and was lifted high to receive your penalty.

Better than good news.

Glorious news.

Wonderful, Counselor,

Mighty God,

Everlasting Father,

Prince of Peace.
